Green Tails Market is our family owned, sustainably focused pet store. Hi, we are Ann & Paul Fryer, and we opened our original store in Farmington, CT back in 2012.  The store was originally called Green Dog Market but we wanted to have the freedom to expand to a wider variety of animals in the future rather than just dog & cat supplies.  When we first opened the pet store, it was in a tiny little space in Farmington Center. After five years we decided that we needed to grow and expand our product offerings.  So in 2017 we moved a mile down Farmington Avenue into a former BBQ restaurant space. And then in 2023 we moved again to our current location at 1035 Farmington Ave.

At that same time in 2023 we found a lovely space 2 blocks from our house in West Hartford Center that we couldn't pass up. So we opened our second store in September of 2023. And now we can walk to work.

Our stores combine our love for dogs with our passion for sustainable living.  Everything we carry is meant to keep your pet healthy without adding to her carbon paw-print. We search for products that are environmentally responsible and not wasteful.  We only sell the healthiest dog & cat foods, and all the toys and supplies we sell are environmentally friendly and sustainable in some way.
